(New York Times) Four man-made waterfalls, 90 to 120 feet high, will punctuate(強調，突出) New York's waterfront(濱水區) for three months starting in mid-July. The creation of artist Olafur Eliasson, it is a collaboration(合作) between the city and the Public Art Fund, a nonprofit(非營利的) organization that presents(呈現；提出) art around the city. The waterfalls have been designed to be environmentally friendly(對環境無害的、環保的) and will be in New York Habor at Pier(碼頭) 35 in Lower Manhattan.

Money for the project, estimated(估計) to cost about $15 million, comes entirely(完全地) from private funds, and the Economic Development Corporation estimates that the waterfalls will bring more than $50 million to the city's economy(經濟). "Throughout history, we have always taken water for granted(視..為理所當然)," said Mr.  Eliasson in a telephone interview(訪問). "Now people can engage in(參與) the physical nature of something as epic(史詩) as a waterfall."

The artificial waterfalls in New York is really special for me. I heard it the first time in the artical. If I can go to New York, I'll visit there to appreciate the four men-made waterfalls. I think it's the first one artificial waterfalls, so we have to see it. Seeing is believing, isn't it?
